The results of first cycle of Journey2Jobs Programme were presented on 9th of November, Thursday, at the events hall of Public at Syntagma Square. The programme was funded by Stavros Niarchos Foundation. In this pioneering programme took part 59 young unemployed people, who were trained in programming languages and after the enhancement of their personal skills, 54 of them found stable and good-paying job, relevant with programming sector at 31 top companies. These numbers reveal absorption rate up to 91%, something that means 100% success of the programme’s main goal, which concerned the reinforcement of young employability.

The event welcomed the President of HePIS ‘Hellenic Professional Informatics Society’, Faldamis Nikolaos, while afterwards Eleni Nicolaides pointed out on her speech that: «This excellent result it is thanks to the perfect technical knowledge that was given to the trainees and to the cultivation of skills of 21th century- analytical capability, moral integrity, willingness to learn, team spirit, communication skills and other personal skills- which are prerequisite for every employment».

From his part, the main speaker of the event, Viron Nicolaides, Founder, President, CEO of PeopleCert and President of Council of European Professional Informatics Societies mentioned that graduates gained some of the best-paid jobs and detached permanently themselves from unemployment, pointing out: «Have as a guide for your life and work 4 very important values: quality, innovation, passion and integrity. It is not important from where you start but where you want to arrive. “Think big”, this is the secret».
