As she points out, contemporary art is a reflection of the current events, of today, and as active citizens our interaction with them is redefined through contemporary art, which in essence is an alternative look on now.

In my opinion art is one. It is our expression. Our expression as seen through culture.

We want for this museum to become a meeting point. A site for discussions, dialogue, information, education, entertainment. I would love to see scientific and transcultural events taking place here. I mean I wouldn’t like any kind of barriers in the museum.

As you know we already have a collection in the museum, a quite important collection, whose character is transcultural to begin with. Our goal is the particular exhibition which is consisted mainly
by Greek artists’ works to travel abroad. This is very important.

Another idea which we will do for this particular exhibition, is to exchange works from our collections.

I hope that in the future, beyond all these, we will have workshops for all ages, not just educational programs, and more ways to draw people, not to forget about everything, but to understand better, to be awakened to several issues and maybe think that art might not be giving solutions, right here and right now, but it provides alternative ways to deal with things. I find this very important. I want to add that this happens without direction in a state of freedom which is something that we need at the moment.

I think that the procedures that have taken place out of necessity from the artists themselves to survive and I dont just mean the visual artists, I mean all artists, to withstand these difficult times to look for ways that will ensure their existence, to express their opinion, is by itself very positive.

The history of humanity is full of hard times. And through these times it wasn’t the end of all, it kept going. I think we must arm ourselves with courage, strength and belief to react, that is all we can do. We must be open, transparent, see through, available and understand that team work and collectiveness is a weapon. Just like this museum, other things were and still are collective visions, these things have greater chance for success.
