Praksis’ Social Housing programme, mainly financed by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, already implemented by March 2012, continues its fourth round of action in Attica and Thessaloniki.

From this January 2016, it is accepting requests locally, electronically on its website (www.praksis.gr) or by phone at 210 520 5200 for Athens and  2310 502 777 for Thessaloniki.

The program aims to relieve Greek households with young children who have lost part of their income, and as a result they cannot meet their daily needs or are facing growing debts that threaten their homes. Also, the programme aims to strengthen adults through job counseling in order to find a job and regain their autonomy.

A team of social scientists, labor consultants, financial advisors and law representatives are always there to offer their help to each family separately.

About the financial support for families, the programme covers part of the mortgage or the rent of the house, as well as public utility bills and maintenance costs. More than 80% of households have been supported so far.
