1st Panhellenic Football Championship Award for Mental Health
Following the successful collaboration at the 1st European Mental Health Sport Competition organized by the “EDRA” organization in September 2018, the 1st Panhellenic 5×5 Mental Health Championship was awarded by the Bravo Sustainability Awards 2019, in December 18, 2019 at the Athens Concert Hall.
The 1st Panhellenic Championship was organized by “EDRA” and the Hellenic Football Federation in September 2019,in which 20 groups of mental health providers from all over Greece were involved, consisting of 182 mental health service recipients and mental health professionals. This innovative action involving mental patients, is part of the social program of the Hellenic Football Federation “Same field”, which is an important part of the six-year development plan of the “Football Everywhere” federation and is approved by the UEFA.
The initiative of the “EDRA” and the Hellenic Football Federation was a nominee in the Bravo in Action category and was awarded through the social dialogue process. The award was received by the Chair of “EDRA” Mrs. Maria Kerasoglou, while from the Hellenic Football Federation attended: Michalis Koutsouris, Director of Strategic Development, Christos Siskos, Grassroots Manager, Georgios Vassalos, futsal UEFA Trainer, and from “EDRA”: Alexandros Economou, Scientific Managing Director, Ikonomou Dimitris, Communication Manager and Aristea Goutsiou, Head of Strategic Development and Fundraising. Accepting the award, Mrs. Kerasoglou thanked the Hellenic Football Federation for the perfect cooperation and stated that the social integration of the mental patients should be done at all levels, as well as in sports, and in particular through football that unites everyone and is for everyone.
