The Athens University of Economics and Business and the Region of Attica co-organize on Sunday, May 12, 2019 in Pedion Areos, the 2nd OPA Run with the participation of about 1500 runners in a 5 km race and a 2 km walk. The event is under the auspices of the City of Athens and is supported by the Panhellenic Gymnastics Club.

On the occasion of the 2nd OPA Run, Professor Emmanouil Giakoumakis, said: “The Park of Pedion Areos is an alive pole of attraction for the members of the University community and for the residents of the city of Athens. Events such as the OPA Run contribute significantly in an effort to revive the link between the park and society and citizens, and it is our pleasure that, for the second year, our volunteer students contribute to the building this renaissance with this initiative.”

OPA Run is organized with the support of 150 volunteers, students of the OPA and is an action of the Volunteers Program “AUEB Volunteers”, which is part of the social strategy of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Part of the proceeds will be allocated to the DIAVASI Program, which implements the nationwide rehabilitation and social reintegration service of the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals (KETHEA). In addition, a significant number of tickets have been allocated to vulnerable social groups.
