The first electric car designed and built in Greece was recently presented at the Hellenic Motor Museum in Athens, proving that the future of travel is definitely electric and could even be Greek. This particular presentation follows the University of Patras student team victory in the “Formula Student Czech 2014” international competition.

The single-seat vehicle that looks like a Formula 1 car, was created entirely by undergraduate students and has 110 horsepower and 750Nm of torque. It uses advanced manufacturing technologies (an electric engine instead of the usual internal combustion engines) and materials, such as carbon fibre and aluminium used in aircrafts, and weighs about 235 kilograms, while the energy is provided by lithium polymer cells.
