Etty Leon has launched her own luxury footwear brand the Spring of 2017, after completing two degrees in Fine Arts and in Accessories Design, in the U.S.A. Her creations are feminine and unique shoes that create a vintage, dazzling and glamorous sensation featuring a new generation of dynamic women.
I was working in New York as a shoe designer and I came back in 2016, realizing that there were no jobs in my industry. So, I decided to start my own brand.
My brand is called Etty Leon and it is aimed at women who enjoy stylistic confidence and are looking for something special.
In each collection there is a different source of inspiration, in the first collection it was geometry, then it was the galaxy, 70’s with more graphic motifs and then luxury resort, but there is a common aesthetic in all collections that are feminine and particular.
Production as well as raw materials are made in Italy but now an attempt is being made for a more economical collection made in Greece.
It is nice to live and create in Greece, despite the difficulties.
In 2016 when I started, the hardest thing was to find the right partners and it took a lot of time and testing.
In Greece we have shoe designers who do a great job and the design level is very high.
However, in the technical part we have a limited number of factories that are more focused on mass production and fast fashion and not so much on design.
So far to promote my work abroad I have participated in exhibitions in Paris and New York.
I am Etty Leon and I am the founder and creative director of Etty Leon and a shoe designer.
