Google has made a significant move that it had committed to since April, while announcing that the product results in the “Purchases” tab now consist mainly of free listings. Now, the company also brings free listings to the main search results page, initially in the US market, while gradually the feature will be extended to the rest of the world.

Free listings in Google search results will be displayed in a special product “acquaintance” box, which displays purchase options for the items that users are looking for. This new feature was first launched for mobile devices and will be followed by desktop platforms. As for the ads in the Shopping section, they will appear separately at the top of the page, with a similar marking to the other Google ad units.

It remains to be seen when this new feature will be extended to other markets around the world.
