Hopwave started as a product addressed to travelers, in order to give them the opportunity to find daily and several-days cruises on islands.
Hopwave was established as an idea in 2015, when we as travelers identified the problem and decided to find a solution.
Along the way, Hopwave evolved into a completely booking management system and eventually into a system that manages the provider’s company in total, and in our next steps we aim to expand completely in every kind of activity.
Having covered a huge portion of traveler’s needs, we started focusing on providers’ needs and essentially, we evolved a completely booking management system which also manages each provider’s company, whether it is canoe, or kayak, or rappel, or parapente or water sport, in order for the provider to be able to manage the company through his mobile phone.
Whether the traveler travels individually or in a group or with friends, Hopwave provides him an easy way to seek for unique experiences in the destination that he visits.
Hopwave provides resellers such as travel agencies or tour operators with the ability to be instantly informed regarding the availability of each activity and to immediately book for their customers.
Our choice to start as a mobile application was based on influences that we have had from the American market. After all, it was proved that this was a wrong action for our first steps and that’s why we improved the platform into a purely web experience through which you can further experience it in a mobile version.
Throughout this journey, we received support by multiple entities, we started through incubators, accelerators and programs that accelerate entrepreneurship activity. At that time, we participate on Egg, with the support of Eurobank and Coralia we are planning our next steps, we are seeking for new investors.
Since the beginning of our activity, we used to challenge our idea through several competitions. We started with a distinction in the first placement of Blue Growth on January of 2016 that basically validated our path as a company. From that moment on, other competitions followed such as the Squeeze of Orange Grove.
At that time, Hopwave operates in 30 islands providing 130 unique experiences to its visitors and we cooperate with 50 providers. Obviously, our goal is to satisfy Greek market’s needs, to expand our services abroad, in terms of activities and experiences, with countries such as Italy, Croatia, Spain and/or respectively northern destinations.
Regarding our next steps, at this stage we have to focus mostly to the provider, the person that stands behind every experience, to examine how that person works, who is that person, how is the daily routine of that person, how that person manages his clients, bookings and availability, and essentially how we can broaden even more the distribution channels of that person’s service.
Meanwhile, inside the team, brainstorming sessions never stops, so each week new things that we want to bring in the market show up; however, following this framework, we should stay focused on the next step, to find the appropriate way to introduce new products in the future.
