GreenHouse project: Supporting Greek entrepreneurship in Chios island
GreenHouse, a project that aims to boost and promote Greek entrepreneurship, was also expanded in Chios, successfully organizing the GreenHouse of Chios, in collaboration with the “Maria Tsakos” Public Benefit Foundation-Centre For Maritime Research And Tradition and under the auspices of the Chamber of Chios. It took place on November 22-29 and included a number of free activities aimed primarily at aspiring entrepreneurs and students.
This year, thanks to the support of the Greek Initiative, GreenHouse has decided to expand its activities throughout Greece, both geographically and substantially. From a three-day entrepreneurship workshop, GreenHouse is being transformed into a five-day, action-driven event in various cities across Greece to stimulate entrepreneurship.
Attendees at GreenHouse in Chios had the opportunity to participate in a two-day entrepreneurship workshop, in both consulting and educational sessions on the use of digital media in businesses, as well as in open discussion forums on family businesses. In addition, well-known entrepreneurs such as Elias Vartholomaios, CEO of OWIWI, Ms. Vicky Dallas, CEO of 9AM Media Labs, Ms. Danai Koukoulomati, Founder of Alios Tours and Mr. Lefteris Papadimopoulos, Founder of Visitplaka.gr, shared their thoughts and experiences with the local business and student community as well as with high school students.
GreenHouse is part of VentureGarden, a broader effort to support entrepreneurship in Greece through education, conducted by Alba Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece in Athens and the American College of Thessaloniki under the auspices of of the Greek Initiative. It is one of Greece’s leading business education programs, helping over 415 entrepreneurs develop their business ideas.
