LoveGreece.com is one of the most creative initiatives of the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation and its President Ms. Gina Mamidakis, which through the recognition of the potentials and values of the Greeks, decided through its activity to promote the Greek Leaders in Greece and abroad, charismatic entrepreneurs, new and established artistic creations, individuals and organizations with distinctions in their field.

In this context, LoveGreece.com organized a Greek wine celebration on Monday 5th March at Life Gallery athens hotel in Ekali, member of bluegr Hotels & Resorts. With the supervision of Mr. Konstantinos Lazarakis, Master of Wine, a presentation of the 15 most promising labels from Greek wineries was held and followed by an impressive high-standard wine-tasting that lasted until night. The Wine growers who participated in the wine tasting started in the morning by giving short interviews that will be presented through the LoveGreece.com site talking about the history and the future of their activity. The goal is to get to know and admire a world full of passion, effort, talent, work, patience, efforts and many successes. The world of Greek wine.

The attendance of the guests surpassed all expectations and composed a living audience consisting of gourmets, wine-makers, wine producers, renowned chefs and gastronomy professionals, journalists and influencers. The event, which aimed to reward the efforts of winemakers and wine-growers while opening new ways of extroversion for their product, was an oath in Greek culture and entrepreneurship, an event that made us feel proud of our national identity.

The wines were presented by Konstantinos Lazarakis, who humorously introduced their creators and by the producers themselves who tried to summarize within a few minutes the labors and struggles of many years over the vineyards. They talked about the natural difficulties of climate and soil, explained how they managed to revive forgotten varieties of vineyards or to save the threatened ones, to break racism towards wines that were wrongly considered as inferior, to develop the innovative techniques of organic cultivation and natural maturation, to give advice on how to distinguish a quality wine. 15 wineries, 15 stories that traveled to the most beautiful corners of Greece and gave us lessons about what can be achieved with talent, study and work.

After the presentation, the wine tasting followed at Life Gallery athens. The bottles of each label were lined up on a separate table where the guests arrived to taste the wine and talk to the producer. The experience was unique and the guests were very excited because in one single night they were able to get to know and taste the best wines of Greece. Not just the tags with the most interesting story but also the best years of these tags. The wines were chosen by Master of Wine Konstantinos Lazarakis to be based on native varieties and produced with innovative practices.

The evening ended with a finger food feast with tastes specially selected to complement the wine experience and the guests left with satisfaction that they had been touring a piece of Greece that is exactly as we want it: with creativity, talent and extroversion.
