Six Greek productions of Onassis Cultural Center are traveling abroad
At least twenty productions of Onassis Cultural Center have traveled abroad during its five years of operation. The export of modern Greek culture and the support of Greek artists is a top priority for the Center, which has made significant steps towards this direction, by actively supporting the tours of its productions.
For this summer six of its performances are traveling in several Festivals abroad, attempting to make performing arts and the contemporary artistic production in Greece known to the rest of the world.
Blitz premiered on July the 7th at the official program of the Avignon Festival with their latest production, «6 am How to disappear completely», which premiered at the Onassis Foundation Shelter in October 2015. George Valai’s, Angeliki Papoulias’ and Christos Pasali’s performance was presented in the Opéra Grand Théâtre d’Avignon for four days, from 7th to July the 10th, 2016.
Dimitris Papaioannou continues his journey with «Still Life», which started in May 2014 on the Main Stage of the Center. Next stop is Singapore and the Singapore Festival of the Arts (25th- 27th of August).
Also, the artistic directors of the Experimental Stage of the National Theatre, Anestis Azas and Prodromos Tsinikoris will present their work abroad, and Vasistas by Argiro Chioti with the performance “blood” written by Efthymis Philipou, Giorgos Lanthimos’ scriptwriter, who willl travel on September the 29th at the Teatr polski in Bydgoszcz. Finally, RootlessRoot who are supported by the Center for their tour of «Europium».
