The Greek Platform for Development, in the framework of the Sustainable Europe for All Program, has organized a participatory workshop for journalists and communication officers of civil society organizations on “Food for Thought: Sustainable Development Goals as a Journalist Agenda”.

During the workshop, good practices from both national and international media were discussed and references were made to ways in which global issues such as poverty, inequality, human rights, and climate change could be effectively communicated to the Greek public. The workshop was implemented in collaboration with members of the Greek Platform for Development – Fair Trade Hellas, ActionAid and Earth Organization and with the participation of a representative from British Council Greece.

The overall objective of the European program ‘Sustainable Europe for All’ is to promote an ambitious implementation of EU Agenda 2030 by substantially increasing the awareness of EU citizens and policymakers about their roles and responsibilities in the effort for a sustainable future. The Greek Platform for Development, in the two years of the program, has implemented a series of actions and seminars to raise public awareness and empower civil society organizations and institutions in many Greek cities around Sustainable Development Objectives.

The Greek Platform for Development, which acts as a “national umbrella”, coordinates a network of Civil Society Organizations active in the areas of sustainable development, humanitarian aid, international development cooperation and development education. Its members are supported by a large part of Greek society and offer their programs at national and international level.
