In 2002, the historic vineyard Porto Carras has implemented a comprehensive restructuring program for the vineyards, in order to respond to new trends in viticulture and new flavors of wine.
In December of 1999, our company, Technical Olympic, purchased the Porto Carras Grand Resort, an area of 17.800 decares and that’s how the opportunity to involve with a subject that until that time was unrelated to us, was given to us.
The Domaine Porto Carras operates in the winery industry for 50 years and has built a major history. We have a production of approximately 800.000 to 1.000.000 bottles, we have 28 native Greek and foreign varieties which we grow and more than 24 labels in the market.
It is a historical vineyard with history behind each label.
I believe that it ends up in the production of quality wine when someone loves what he is doing and respects the mother earth which provides it.
Quality is defined with the stability in cultivating care of the vineyard along with the courtesy and love for the winemaking care of the final product of wine.
Personally, I believe and support the Greek wine, I believe that as a country we have a uniqueness in Greek wine, our varieties are completely different compared to the rest varieties in the world and are almost unknown to many people.
The competitive advantage that Greek wine has in the international market and the history that rises behind its label.
Nowadays, we constantly work in order to showcase the Greek wine tourism, we consider the tourism product of Greece as interwoven with the wine tourism product of Greece.
So, we believe that the wine tourism is a thematic tourism that can offer a huge season extension in terms of tourism, even to destinations that the tourist has in his mind as completely summer destinations such as Halkidiki.
So, we believe the wine tourism is a product that will bring us more people, but at the same time will showcase Greece abroad as a precursor of the Greek wine.
